(Verona, Kentucky) – Harrod Brothers Racing are pleased to announce that Verona, Kentucky-native Jerry Rice has been selected as driver of their entries for the 2007 racing season. Rice, who has driven the Brian Brooks owned #1B in years past, is the 2006 Eldora Speedway Track Champion. Along with the Eldora Track Championship, Jerry finished a close 2nd in the 24th annual “North/South 100” at Florence Speedway, as well as 3rd in the Florence track points for 2006.
The #11 will adorn the doors of the black, red, white, blue, and orange Jeff and Eddie Harrod-owned Rocket and Rayburn Chassis’ in 2007. The Harrod/Rice combo will be competing at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi this weekend. Today (Friday, November 24th) is the “Thanksgiving 30,” which is 30 laps, $2,000 to win. Saturday (November 25th) is the 6th Annual “Possum Town Grand Prix.” The PTGP is $5,000 to win, and 50 laps around the 3/10th mile high banked, red clay oval. A 2007 schedule will be posted on www.JerryRiceRacing.com and www.HarrodRacing.com when it becomes available. The Harrod Brothers Racing Team would like to thank their sponsors and fans for their support in 2006, and continued support in 2007.
